When you buy one of these products you are in contract with the insurance company not the car rental company. The reason for this that the policy covers you as a renter and not the rental car.
Super CDW: Offered at the the rental desk when you pick up your car (or sometimes during the online booking) by the rental agent. Usually the rental price include the CDW and with SCDW you can shift your liability to the rental company if something happens to the rented vehicle.
